OFFICIAL: Christian Abbiati Renews Milan Deal Until 2013

Milan goalkeeper Christian Abbiati has signed a new deal with the club until 2013, the club's official website revealed on Monday.
As expected, the 33-year-old put pen to paper in order to stay another two seasons at the Rossoneri, and he will reportedly earn €2 million-per-year during that period.
The shot-stopper is back in training after suffering a serious knee injury in 2009 that required surgery. He is expected to challenge former Palermo and Genoa 'keeper Marco Amelia for the starting spot in goal this season under coach Massimiliano Allegri.
Abbiati started his career with the club over ten years ago, helping them win the 1999 Scudetto, but has since then been in and out of the line-up, often playing second-fiddle to Brazilian Dida, whose contract expired at the end of last season.
While on the Rossoneri's books, the veteran has also experienced loan spells with Juventus, Torino and Atletico Madrid.
