Milan coach Massimiliano is expecting to sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic from Barcelona after getting an early answer from the player during a personal phonecall.
The latest comments from Allegri coincide with news from Barcelona that the player's agent Mino Raiola has agreed to a golden handshake with the Catalans - a reason as to why Ibrahimovic has decided to accept a wage cut at Milan.
Sky Sport Italia now claim Raiola and Galliani will hold a second meeting with the striker tonight where they will perfect personal terms.
And Allegri is hopeful of concluding the move as business becomes elevated with the Rossoneri now able to drill deep into the heart of talks.
"There has been a phonecall, it was informative. He told me he would be really happy to come. We will see if the club can complete our attack which is already strong," Allegri told Sky Sport Italia.
"I am faithful for this operation because we are all convinced he is an important player who would make us make the step up in quality and he will complete our front line.
"It was a courtesy call to get to know each other.
"He is a champion player. The more champions we have, the easier it is to win games. We have one of the strongest attacks in Europe.
"I think that with Ibrahimovic we will have technique and goals and we can get closer to Inter. To get results we need an important squad."
These new developments are in contrast with what Raiola said earlier when he asked for patience.
But, it seems the move is moving at speed.
