AC Milan Unable To Sign Sampdoria Starlet Andrea Poli

AC Milan will not be signing Sampdoria midfielder Andrea Poli this summer, according to Sky Sport 24.

The Serie A giants had been linked with a move for the 20-year-old, but the Blucerchiati are reportedly unwilling to sell the player regarded as one of the most promising midfield talents in the peninsula.

The former Sassuolo man made 31 appearances for Sampdoria last season, helping them to fourth place and Champions League qualification. The club intend to keep him for their European commitments this coming season and extended his contract until 2014 at the end of the previous campaign due to his positive performances.

He consistently rose through the Castrol Rankings in 2009-10 over 1000 places, now ranked at 741. Poli made his debut for the Italy Under-21 side in 2009 and has become a regular in the Azzurrini line-up since then.
